Local autoscan
Quick checks without leaving the tab
- Reads Open Graph and X card tags from the current tab after you enable local checks.
- Shows local previews and issues for X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and chat apps.
- Makes no second page request and does not send page HTML to PreviewChecks.
- Runs English large-banner text checks locally with packaged OCR. The selected image URL is sent to the secure image proxy to retrieve image bytes, then the returned image is analyzed locally.
Server check

- Checks HTTP responses, redirects and content delivery from outside your browser.
- Tests crawler-like fetches, WAF or challenge risk, image reachability and TLS 1.2 support.
- Only runs after an explicit user click from the extension popup.

Why it runs on website tabs
PreviewChecks reads the current document after it loads. The quick scan does not request the page again, follow redirects or interfere with its navigation.
No browsing-history collection
Results live in session-only extension storage and are removed with the tab or browser session. The extension does not access cookies or downloads. A server check sends only the current page URL after an explicit click. Text checks currently support English. OCR and measurements run locally with packaged code after the selected preview image is retrieved through the secure PreviewChecks image proxy. The X summary mini-icon card is excluded.
